Welcome to An Evolving Portrait of Us, a participatory digital artwork by Leo Chan (the artist).

Your Participation

By participating in this artwork, you will:

• Capture a neutral-expression selfie using your device camera
• See your likeness morph into collective portraits with other participants
• Optionally share a video of the morphing sequence

Grant of Permission

By clicking "I Accept" below, you:

• grant the artist irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, publish, adapt, edit, combine, and create derivative works from your image
• waive any right to approval, fee, or attribution and release the artist from claims arising from these permitted uses.
• give permission to collect your approximate geographic location for potential geo-weighted portrait variations

Privacy & Data

Participant source captures and relevant project records may be retained indefinitely to support the creation, verification, exhibition, archiving, and development of current and future artworks.

We collect approximate geographic location for potential future artworks that explore regional portrait variations. Precise GPS coordinates are not stored. No other personally identifiable information is collected.

No Commercial Use

This is a non-commercial art project. Your likeness will not be used for advertising, endorsements, or commercial purposes.

Voluntary Participation

Participation is entirely voluntary. You may decline to participate by clicking "I Decline" below. If you decline, you will be redirected to the artist's portfolio website.

Artistic Intent

This project explores our shared humanity through collective portraiture. The morphing sequence reveals how individual faces blend into a collective whole, suggesting both our uniqueness and our commonality.
